    About This Lot

The early 1980s were prolific years for Keith Haring, as the artist teamed up with some of the leading figures of the New York art and social scene. Among them was the award-winning choreographer and dancer Bill T. Jones, who rose to prominence when he founded the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company. Together, Haring and Jones forged a strong friendship and produced several collaborations in both performance and dance, most famously in Haring painting Jones from head to toe in his iconic calligraphic style. The present work, a wonderfully playful print by Haring, was also produced in support of his friend's dance company. From the Portfolio of 5 Artists in Support of Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane & Company, Untitled (Double Man) depicts a rhythmic figure at once immediately reminiscent of the artist's iconic style and that of his friend's dance company.
