Studied at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Bachelor of Fine Arts (1958) and Master of Arts in painting (1959)

Christenberry had begun taking pictures with a simple Brownie camera
Taught at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa
1962
Assistant professor of Art at Memphis State University. Began friendship with William Eggleston. First drawings and paintings for the "Klan Room."
